I have done nearly 100 of these Level 1 sessions now.
I have also done the Level Two 7 week courses for over 20 years.
Both courses have changed. Risk Management much more important. Professionalism much higher priority.
But the underlying intention to help the student understand and deal with the trials of real martial arts training is the same. Everyone knows the struggle is constant and necessary. Normal people just want to find a simple way to avoid the suffering and achieve the goal. Not really possible so the course now shows more psychological methods to deal with frustration and use it to achieve higher levels of ability. This ability I speak of is of course physical ability but more importantly mental ability.
You see if the student is psychologically strong, there is no mental trauma or frustration. The highs and lows are just steps.
You can't climb a smooth mountain.
